Mark DeBoer
I am privileged to have the role of Director of Corporate Services at Vulcan County. I have always strived to be innovative in my field of work, providing excellence in financial and budgetary reporting, in a manner that is easy to understand.
During my time at the County, the County has continued its award winning budget reports (through the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program from GFOA International) and has been successful in receiving awards for the County’s financial reporting (through the Canadian Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting from GFOA International).
I also serve as a reviewed for the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) program and the Canadian Representative of the SFO Commission for ASBO International and the Chair of the Communications Taskforce for GFOA Alberta.
Prior to my current role, I worked as the Director of Finance at Lethbridge School Division (2017-2022), a prior Director of Corporate Services at Vulcan County (2013-2017) and a senior accountant with BDO Canada LLP (accounting/audit firm). In these prior roles, I was also successful in receiving multiple awards for excellence in financial and budgetary reporting. I also received the 2021 Pinnacle Award of Achievement from ASBO International.
I hold a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations (SFO), and had received my Bachelor of Management (specializing in accounting) from the University of Lethbridge.
