Agricultural Service Board Seeking Member-At-Large

Vulcan County is currently seeking applications from members of the local farming and ranching community to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Agricultural Service Board (ASB) Advisory Committee.

As one of the current Member-at-Large positions reaches the end of its three-year term, the County is looking for an individual with a strong understanding of the agricultural industry and a passion for supporting agriculture in Vulcan County.

The Agricultural Service Board Advisory Committee provides valuable input and recommendations on agricultural matters affecting the municipality. Committee membership includes Vulcan County ratepayers who are actively engaged in, or thoroughly familiar with, the agricultural industry.

The successful applicant will serve a three-year term and participate in approximately four meetings per year, typically held on Tuesday mornings. Members may also have the opportunity to attend the annual three-day Agricultural Service Board Conference, with the location varying each year.

Members-at-Large are compensated for reasonable travel, subsistence, and out-of-pocket expenses incurred while attending board meetings and conferences.

Individuals interested in learning more about Agricultural Service Boards are encouraged to visit the ASB website.
Applications can be downloaded here or obtained through the County office.

For additional information, please contact the Director of Agricultural Services at 403-485-3103.
