FIRE PERMITS

Fire Permits are required for anyone within Vulcan County wishing to conduct a controlled burn on their property.

Fire Permits are not intended to unnecessarily restrict burning but rather to assist property owners to burn safely and in compliance with the Provincial Forest and Prairie Protection Act.

Permits are available, free of charge, by contacting the Vulcan County Office. Some standard conditions will apply and other conditions may be applied depending upon the site and type of burn intended.

Fire Permits are not required for Contained Fires - that means a Fire which is totally confined within a non-combustible structure or container and which is ventilated in such a manner as to preclude the escape of combustible materials such as ash.

For additional information please contact the Vulcan County Office at 403-485-2241.
